    Monday-Friday day/evening shifts and Saturdays until noon, as needed.

Qualifications (Here's What You Need)
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required.
  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.
  • 1 year of clinical experience in Mammography preferred.
  • Meet the Mammography requirements as stated in Federal Register for MQSA in Final Rules, Part 900.12(a)(2). Preferred.
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiography required upon hire.
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Mammography preferred upon hire.
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Mammography required within 12 months of hire.
  • CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist Either by the TDH or TMB required upon hire.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 Days of hire required.
Responsibilities (What You Will Do)
  • Produce quality images in mammography as defined by the American College of Radiology guidelines.
  • Perform mammograms and diagnostic radiographs.
  • Possess standard and advanced positioning skills.
  • Perform quality diagnostic radiology exams for general radiography and fluoroscopic exams.
  • Greet patient in a courteous manner.
  • Introduce self by name and explain procedure to patient and family if necessary.
  • Manage mammography QA tasks: phantom images, visual inspections, compression checks, screen contact checks, peer reviews, and monthly check lists for all mammography units. Inform Physicist of repairs as needed.
  • Maintain equipment logs, preventive maintenance records, and physicist survey data for all X‑ray equipment.
  • Collect and tabulate repeat rates for diagnostic radiology, mammography, and stereotactic tables.
  • Perform visual inspections for the RF, Tomo, mammography rooms, apron and glove leak checks, screen contact, peer review, and technologist peer review.
  • Arrange for calibrations, electrical checks, QA book updates, and review all standards (ACR/TDH/FDA and JCAHO). Distribute film badges and continuing education certificates. Responsible for annual inspection by TDH and FDA. Attend monthly departmental staff meetings and complete quarterly QI reports for QRMC.
  • Accurately enter patient data in the RIS system for patient tracking and exam verification (billing).
  • Present patient case history and images to Radiologists for review by pulling images from PACS and hanging analog films on multiviewers as needed.
  • Meet or exceed continuing education requirements for mammography and diagnostic radiology as set by Texas Department of Health, American College of Health, American College of Radiology, and FDA/MQSA guidelines.
  • Attend monthly departmental staff meetings and mandatory in‑services. Follow department‑specific/hospital policies regarding absences, tardies, time and attendance, supervisor notification, and the importance of wearing an  visible to patients, customers, hospital staff, and physicians.
  • Verify patient with two identifiers.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness, inspect, and report any malfunctions.
  • Respond to emergency situations appropriately.
  • Recognize safety hazards and act to protect patients, self, and others.
  • Work collaboratively with the Departmental Director, TL Rad Mammographer, and the Leadership Team for process improvement.
  • Work toward becoming more effective with the leadership team regarding strategic objectives and departmental growth.
