Certified Surgical Technician CST Fulltime Night Shift Labor & Delivery

Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking to hire a Certified Surgical Technician CST to join the Night Shift Labor & Delivery Team.

Work Schedule:

Fulltime – 36 hours per week, 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Facility:
Helen McKee Ryan Birthing Center at Texas Health Fort Worth. The center features 17 private maternity suites, 1 tub-equipped suite for laboring in water, and 3 cesarean birth suites.

• Set up and break down vaginal delivery carts
• Stock ORs and Labor & Delivery rooms
• Transport instruments to Sterile Processing for sterilization
• Help reposition patients
• Assist with vaginal deliveries if requested by providers
• Order supplies and stock the unit
• Serve as unit secretary as needed (answer phones, intercom, basic computer work, print labels and baby bracelets, prepare papers and charts)
• Perform other tasks to assist nursing staff (e.g., transport patients to OR or rooms, deliver food and drinks to patients)

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent; prior practice as surgical technologist in a health care facility before Sept 1, 2009 (Required)
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program, Vocational Nurse Program, or completion of a military training program in surgical technology (Upon hire – Required)
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program, Vocational Nurse Program, or completion of a military training program in surgical technology (Upon hire – Preferred)

• 1 year current operating room experience (Preferred)

• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist (Required at hire)
• Past employment as CST in a health care facility before Sept 1, 2009 (Required at hire)
• CST with military training program in surgical technology (2 years) – Required or Preferred
• LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse (Required at hire)
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support (required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly)
