Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Specialty Hospital, Full Time Nights
Work location: Texas Health Fort Worth – 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104
Work hours: Full Time Nights (6:15 PM – 7:45 AM) for 36 hours/week. Weekend and holiday requirements.
Qualifications- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Required.
- CLIA foreign education equivalency must comply with CLIA regulations – Required.
- PCT Training Program: TX CNA, NHA, NAHP, NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program. Certification not required to maintain after hire.
- EMT – Emergency Medical Technician; military experience with medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT‑B) – Required upon hire.
- Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or a foreign nurse degree program – Required upon hire.
- 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification – Required upon hire.
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly – Required upon hire.
- CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training, maintained annually 90 days – Required.
- Possesses organizational skills to function in a fast‑paced work environment, positive interpersonal skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
- Nursing students or EMTs without formal status can continue in role if they have consistently demonstrated skills in a PCT position.
- Provides patient care and assistance based on the plan of care and patient/family preferences.
- Collects and reports patient data, supports admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
- Performs technical procedures safely and documents care accurately.
- Collaborates with nurses to adapt care for diverse populations and cultural needs.
- Maintains a clean, safe environment and proactively meets patient and visitor needs.
- Demonstrates teamwork, flexibility, and effective communication across disciplines.
- Participates in process improvement, adheres to safety goals, and advocates for patients.
