Base pay range$16.00/hr - $21.00/hr
Job OverviewUnder pharmacist supervision, a pharmacy technician prepares prescriptions for patients and health professionals. The successful candidate will process prescriptions into the pharmacy management systems, answer phone calls helping patients, responsible parties and nursing staff. Meeting the needs of our customers and patients while meeting company goals and objectives. The successful candidate will also assist in delivery routing and inventory management and any other duties as assigned.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Providing excellent customer service to patients, health care providers, and insurers.
- Counting, labeling, and reconstituting prescription medications.
- Packaging Medications into Blister Cards or Multi-Dose Packages.
- Inputting and retrieving information through the pharmacy system and point-of-sale system.
- Obtaining refill authorizations from prescribers.
- Processing and preparing third-party insurance claims.
- Maintaining accurate patient and client profiles.
- Assisting the pharmacist with managing inventory.
- Preparing reports related to sales, usage, inventory and med sync.
- Maintaining and cleaning equipment, work areas, and shelves.
- Delivery Routing and Packaging Completed Prescriptions for Delivery to Patients or Facilities.
- Immunization Certification and CPR Certification.
- Knowledge of different Electronic Medical Administration Records and their integration into Pharmacy Dispensing Systems.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalency.
- Texas State Board of Pharmacy Certified Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician-in-Training in good standing.
- Not on the Officer of Inspector General Excluded Parties List.
- No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
- Excellent leadership qualities.
- Ability to perform accurately and oversee data entry, dispensing of medications, maintaining proper inventory, patient conversations and other related skills.
- Able to grasp information at a quick pace and apply the information to pharmacy systems in order to meet deadlines for patients and clients.
- Ability to work with a dynamic team and excel within the team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to build relationships and network.
- Strong computer skills to operate pharmacy management software and other necessary programs.
- Knowledge of inventory control and pharmaceutical chemistry and manufacturing methods.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding pharmacy.
- Preferred: previous Long Term Care Experience Around Red Sail Technologies Applications and Pharmacy Dispensing Systems (Prime Care, Docu Track, Delivery Track and Pioneer Rx) as well as Synmed, Rapid Pak, and Nexsys.
