The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, under general supervision, assists physicians during catheterization/electrophysiology lab procedures. Responsibilities include preparing room and equipment, instructing patients, monitoring patient’s condition, and providing routine and emergency patient care during procedures. Contributes to orientation and training of other personnel and assists with quality control initiatives.
$10,000 Sign‑On Bonus and relocation assistance available.
ShiftMonday – Friday, 7:00 pm – 5:30 pm 4–10 hour shifts. Call required and work occasional weekends on a rotational basis. 9 call shift in a 6‑week period to include weekend.
Requirements- Education:
Graduate of an accredited program. - Experience:
1+ years of experience. - Certification: ARRT or RCIS required.
- Assist physicians with arteriograms/catheterizations, permanent pacemaker implantations, implantable cardiac defibrillators, diagnostic and interventional, peripheral and coronary, interventional and thrombolytic therapy.
- Follow national and state radiation protection regulations for patients, self, and staff.
- Provide emergency procedures (CPR, defibrillation, etc.) as needed.
- Perform pre- and post-procedure care and monitoring; orient patients for catheterization or electrophysiology procedures.
- Monitor patient ECG, pressures, temperature, and impedances while in the Electrophysiology Lab; notify physician of variances.
- Assist in running RF/Cryo ablation systems, 3D mapping, and record procedural documentation.
- Manage and maintain imaging, including stenosis analysis, formatting and processing on both cardiac and peripheral cases.
- Collect registry and quality data, prepare procedure reports.
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields; order and inventory procedure room supplies; ensure equipment is maintained and not expired.
- Perform routine calibration and maintenance of complex equipment.
- Assist in orientation and training of new staff and students; oversee quality control monitoring (NPSG auditing, turnaround times, performance improvement initiatives).
- Participate in shared governance, department or hospital committees, LEAN initiatives, and professional organizations.
- Transport patients to and from procedural area; demonstrate good customer service skills.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited program. - Experience:
Less than 1 year of experience (but see requirements above). - Certification/License/Registration:
Must meet one of the following:- ARRT‑R and MRT
- Cardio Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
- Reg Cardiac Electro Specialist (RCES)
- Cert Electro Specialist (CEPS)
- Cert Cardiac Device Spec (CCDS)
- ACLS and BLS within 30 days of hire.
