Job Summary
Baylor, Scott & White All Saints Medical Center, Ft Worth, TX
Full-Time Nights, 3 twelve‑hour shifts per week
The Patient Care Technician – Health Unit Coordinator performs various clerical and patient care duties for the department under the direct supervision of the licensed nurse.
Essential Functions OfThe Role
- Collect and record patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, nutritional intake and output; perform blood glucose monitoring.
- Perform routine urinary catheter care and transport specimens (urine, stool, sputum, etc.).
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and change linen as appropriate.
- Respond to patient call lights and requests in a timely manner; may serve as a sitter for patients needing constant observation.
- Complete and maintain unit and patient records, including admissions, surgeries, transfers, discharges, medical records and physician call list.
- Maintain clean and organized work area of records and reference documents; update facility boards, pneumatic tube system and telemetry box reconciliation.
- Prepare reports, purchase orders, projects, memos and letters using computer programs.
- Greet visitors, answer phones, contact nursing personnel and medical staff; track call‑light response time and assign devices.
- Perform work‑area support duties directed by a nurse or physician; run errands, pick up supplies and transport patients.
- Maintain inventory, requisitions and stocks of supplies and equipment.
- Assist with non‑medical patient‑care support duties such as making coffee, transporting patients and distributing ice, water and blankets.
- Clean patient bedside units, nursing areas and equipment; distribute as needed.
- Attend in‑services, unit meetings and conferences.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patient information.
- Ability to relate professionally and positively and cooperate with patients, families and employees at all levels.

- Less than 1 year of experience
