Job Overview:

Responsible for all aspects of MBFS commercial retail and lease acquisitions for Fleet borrowers and for Van Upfitter Floorplan borrowers. Coach and mentor team of Commercial Credit analysts to underwrite credit commercial credit lines ensuring accuracy and integrity as well as adherence to global and local policies and procedures. In addition to establish and maintain positive relationships with MBFS Sales Team and the MB dealer network to create profitable growth of both the Commercial and Wholesale portfolios.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage acquisition activities for Commercial Fleet borrowers with outstanding that exceed $1,250M or requesting a line of credit, and all MBFS Van Upfitter Floorplan borrowers. Decision credit requests up to approved limits of authority of $5MM 1-4 rated or $3MM 5+ rated and play an active role in local credit file reviews and credit committee. Review credit files prior to analyst presenting to credit committee and take on role of presenting of larger files to various levels of credit committees when necessary.

  • Coach and develop Commercial Credit Analysts on skills and competencies needed to be successful in the role, (e.g., financial analysis, asset evaluation, economic factors, collateralization, etc.). Recognize and reward valued behaviors. Conduct mid‑year and annual LEAD appraisals. In partnership with Human Resources, manage the interviewing and selection of candidates, as needed. (30%)
  • Establish and maintain positive relationship with MBFS Sales Teams and dealer network to assist with profitable growth in the portfolio. Participate in joint sales calls and customer/dealer visits, when necessary. (10%)
  • Ensure compliance to Corporate and Local credit policies and procedures. Identify and correct any issues, look for best practices to share. (10%)
  • Understand all relevant Fleet/Van Upfitter legal documentation to ensure compliance to documented business requirements and collateral perfection through UCC filings,…
