GPS - Financial Accounting Advisory Services - State and Local - Senior Manager
Join EY’s Government & Public Sector practice and shape the future of public finance. This Senior Manager will lead advisory engagements across all federal GPS sector lines, delivering innovative solutions to state, local and education (SLED) clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead business development activities: identify opportunities, develop proposal responses and manage deal governance.
- Execute high‑impact advisory engagements: develop strategies, deliver complex accounting, budgetary and audit solutions and manage engagement deliverables.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and collaborate cross‑line to identify cross‑sell opportunities.
- Manage an assurance team: delegate work, provide coaching, conduct performance reviews and drive team performance.
- Strong client relationship management and proactive client satisfaction focus.
- Deep understanding of governmental accounting (GASB, GASB standards), budgetary reporting and auditing concepts.
- Expertise in ACFR, annual financial statements, single audit reports and OMB guidance.
- Experience with modified‑accrual basis of reporting, grants management and budgetary reporting.
- Advanced technology use to enhance service delivery and knowledge sharing.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, communication and negotiation skills.
- U.S. CPA license in your work state.
- 10+ years of post‑college experience in financial audit and financial reporting advisory for SLED clients.
- In‑depth knowledge of US Governmental GAAP, GASB standards and OMB guidance.
- Comprehensive experience preparing and auditing ACFR, annual financial statements and single audit reports for SLED entities.
- Hands‑on business development experience in the SLED space and proficiency in deal governance and proposal submission process.
- Secret clearance or higher.
- CGFM and/or CDFM certification.

What We Offer- Competitive base salary range $146,700 to $335,100 (range varies by location).
