Job SummaryIn the role of Controller, you will play a crucial role in shaping our financial landscape. You will manage accounting operations, oversee financial activities within the organization, ensuring precision and adherence to accounting principles, regulations, and tax compliance. Your expertise will guide our financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls, all aligned with our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the preparation of in-depth analysis of financial statements – income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, contributing to informed decision‑making.
- Ensure we meet compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, alongside applicable accounting standards, keeping our financial practices transparent and trustworthy.
- Develop and sustain robust budgeting and forecasting processes, equipping management with timely variance analyses and insightful reports.
- Manage the month‑end and year‑end closing processes to ensure we provide accurate and timely financial information.
- Implement and monitor effective internal controls to protect company assets and manage financial risks proactively.
- Facilitate annual audits and collaborate with external auditors, providing essential documentation and support.
- Supervise and mentor our finance and accounting team, nurturing a cooperative and high‑performing work culture.
- Prepare and present engaging financial reports to senior leadership, sharing valuable insights into financial performance and improvement opportunities.
- Analyze financial data to empower strategic decision‑making and bolster our business growth initiatives.
- Stay informed about industry trends, legislation, and best practices in accounting and finance to keep us at the forefront of our field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation
- Proven experience as a Controller
- Deep understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficient with ERP systems (Net Suite preferred) and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with planning and budgeting tools or HRIS is a bonus.
- Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Strong leadership abilities with superb communication skills, both written and oral.
- Detail‑oriented with an unwavering commitment to accuracy and excellence.
