Aoka is a third-party municipal services provider serving jurisdictions across Texas. We support local governments with expert building inspections, plan reviews, and code consulting—powered by our proprietary software that accelerates inspection turnaround times and helps prevent costly construction delays.
Qualifications
- Candidate must currently reside in Texas
. - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred).
- Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with at least 2 years supervising or leading a team of accountants.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Net Suite, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication abilities and a collaborative mindset in a remote-first environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of accountants to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning processes.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and state/federal financial regulations.
- Coordinate annual audits and work closely with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Develop and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
- Analyze financial data to provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Support special projects, including software implementation or financial process optimization.
Compensation and Benefits
- $85,000 – $110,000 yearly salary
