Responsibilities:
- Oversee environmental compliance, develop sustainability initiatives, environmental permits, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local township regulations.
- Knowledge of NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System), SPCC (Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure), Air permitting for minor and major sources including General permits associated with Ready-Mix Concrete Facilities.
- Stormwater sampling (quarterly and semi-annual) and DMR's submittals.
- Annual Tier 1 and Tier 2 reports.
- Preparation of SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan), Self Certify the SPCC plan if applicable.
- Sound knowledge of EPA submittal platforms.
- Conduct regular inspections of our sites to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Develop and implement inspection policies, procedures, and a schedule of routine inspection
- Create and implement health and safety procedures.
- Schedule and conduct training covering emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
- Monitor compliance with safety procedures and document inspection findings in comprehensive reports.
- Ensure that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Maintain records of hazardous waste discharge and employee exposure to pollutants as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required;
Master's degree desirable. - Five years of related experience preferred.
- Capable of conducting inspections and carrying equipment.
- Comfortable with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
- Comfortable and physically able to visit and work at concrete plants and mines on a routine basis.
