Aeronautical Information Analyst

The National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program at Leidos is seeking an Aeronautical Information Analyst to perform a variety of duties in connection with the preparation of Terminal Instrument Procedures development. The position will support the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Central Service Area (CSA) with the goal of providing outstanding customer service to FAA customers receiving NISC services. This position is based in Fort Worth, Texas and represents an exciting opportunity to contribute your experience to the NISC mission.

• Support the FAA Flight Procedures and AVN Production Integration Teams in Fort Worth and Oklahoma City respectively through review and analysis of Terminal Instrument Approach procedures.
• Develop, evaluate, and maintain Terminal Instrument Approach procedures.
• Support porting required data from Transmittal Letters, Digital Terminal Procedure Publications, FAA Coordination Web Sites, and Specialist Inputs to databases on a cyclic schedule.
• Assist with development of policies and procedures that affect and contribute to best practices.
• Evaluate Non-Rule making Airport (NRA) cases for the effect of proposed alterations or deactivations of airports, Navigational Aid (NAVAID) outages and revisions to controlled airspace as they affect instrument flight procedures.
• Review the National Flight Data Digest and determine if published or proposed data requires a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) or an amendment to published instrument approach procedures.
• Develop, process, and track NOTAM amendment actions to affected instrument approach procedure(s) of airways and ensure the timely cancellation of issued NOTAMs as required.
• Provide approach analysis and feasibility studies, including Localizer Performance (LP) Instrument Approach, Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV), and Required Navigation Performance (RNP) with reports and recommendations.

• BS degree with 8 to 12 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 6 to 10 years of experience.
• 10+ years of prior experience with FAA Terminal Procedure or Airspace development (e.g., FAA Air Traffic Controller, Military Terminal Procedure Development, or Commercial/Private Pilot).
• Ability to conduct research, evaluations, studies, and develop recommendations for the FAA customer.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Familiarity with FAA Orders and Directives related to Terminal Instrument Procedures.
• Experience with computer software such as APOS to initiate and track flight procedures and interface with Airmans' Information Services (AIS).
