We are seeking an Instrument & Controls (I&C) Project Engineer to support the design, verification, troubleshooting, and implementation of controls and instrumentation systems across multiple industrial manufacturing projects.
This role blends project execution with hands‑on technical controls expertise. The engineer will serve as a key liaison between project and controls teams, ensuring instrumentation and automation systems are properly specified, designed, integrated, and transitioned into operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead instrumentation and controls scope for capital and improvement projects across manufacturing operations.
- Verify and review P&IDs, one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, and control schematics for technical accuracy and completeness.
- Specify, select, and validate instrumentation for industrial process systems (flow, pressure, temperature, level, analytical, etc.).
- Support controls system design, configuration, and troubleshooting for new and existing equipment.
- Interface with internal controls teams to ensure seamless transition of projects from design through commissioning and handoff to operations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and process engineering.
- Support commissioning, startup, and field troubleshooting activities.
- Review vendor documentation and ensure compliance with project and operational standards.
- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and execution activities with a project‑heavy focus.
- Assist in resolving technical issues related to block making, metal making, finishing, machining, furnaces, milling systems, electrolysis assembly, and related manufacturing equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 3–5 years of relevant industrial experience.
- Demonstrated experience specifying instrumentation for process systems (required).
- Strong ability to read and interpret P&IDs, one‑line, and three‑line diagrams.
- Experience supporting controls systems within industrial manufacturing environments.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting experience with process instrumentation and automation systems.
- Experience working in chemical manufacturing or heavy industrial settings preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate across engineering teams.
- Experience with Siemens and/or Allen Bradley PLC systems.
- Experience supporting equipment such as furnaces, machining systems, mills, or electro‑mechanical process equipment.
- Exposure to commissioning and startup activities.
- Project engineering experience within capital project environments.
