You will be the Director of Engineering - Airframe Design for the Airframe Design (AD) team which is responsible for delivering world-class airframe solutions across all Lockheed Martin Aeronautics lines of business. What You Will Be Doing As the Director of Engineering - Airframe Design you will be responsible for steering functional leadership of all airframe design activities, ensuring technical excellence from concept through sustainment.

* Provide strategic oversight of structural, systems integration, harness, mechanical, and canopy design to guarantee airworthiness and performance.
* Ensure certification plans and verification activities meet contractual and regulatory requirements.
* Develop and embed standardized design processes, tools, and metrics into the digital engineering thread across all Aero programs.
* Lead workforce planning, talent development, and resource allocation to meet program staffing needs and surge capacity.
* Drive continuous-improvement initiatives, incorporating emerging technologies such as topology optimization, additive manufacturing, and AI-enabled design automation. Further Information About This Opportunity MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Secret clearance to start.

This position can be based in either Palmdale, CA, Fort Worth, TX or Marietta, GA

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science (Engineering) degree with 10+ years relevant aerospace design experience.

• Demonstrated senior leadership experience and demonstrated ability to lead large teams.

• Experience in technical leadership
• Demonstrated corrective action and problem-solving skills.

• Broad based program management experience: managing large performance efforts delivering cost, schedule and financial outcomes.

• Experience working with US Services and International customers.
Desired

Skills:

• Previous experience with multiple Aeronautics platforms

• Proven full spectrum leadership skills

• Experience with technology development/innovation

• Demonstrated experience leading diverse and highly dynamic teams/organizations.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience engaging and presenting in executive level meetings
Security Clearance Statement:
This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
