Overview
Brief Description Field Engineer II builds on entry-level experience by taking greater ownership of field coordination tasks, technical documentation, and progress tracking. With a growing understanding of project documents, scopes of work, and subcontractor roles, Field Engineer II is expected to work more independently, anticipate field needs, and follow through on tasks without constant supervision. This is a growth-oriented role for emerging leaders in construction who are ready to expand their technical knowledge and contribute meaningfully to project execution.
Responsibilities- Independently track and manage digital documentation submitted daily by trade partners.
- Support and document QAQC inspections conducted by Superintendents.
- Demonstrate constructability knowledge across all civil scopes, including decimal foot calculations.
- Assist with schedule updates using P6; maintain hard copy schedules and contribute to weekly team reviews.
- Lead layout verification efforts and report on production metrics.
- Identify and help resolve field issues in coordination with the Superintendent.
- Generate, process and track RFI’s and submittals with minimal supervision.
- Conduct safety walks and contribute to maintaining a clean and hazard-free job site.
- Mentor Field Engineer I team members and support onboarding of new hires.
- Participate in coordination meetings and assist in resolving subcontractor conflicts.

- This role requires regular physical activity, including walking, standing for extended periods of time, and working in various outdoor conditions as part of daily field operations. Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather, if needed. This may include climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching. Occasional office work will be required.
- Occasional heavy lifting (=50 lbs./=22.7 + kg) can be expected, though exertion of up to 10lbs of force is more common.
- Strong manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment (e.g. computers, mobile devices, copiers, etc.).
- 1-2 years of experience as an FE I
- B.A. or B.S. in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture or equivalent experience
- Bilingual preferred but not required
