Position: Systems Engineer (Fluids) - Level 2

Systems Engineer (Fluids) – Level 2

Systems Engineer (Fluids) - Level 2 for the Fluid and Mechanical Systems Team which is responsible for supporting the F‑35 program.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Systems Engineer (Fluids) - Level 2 you will be responsible for delivering reliable hydraulic, fuel, and fire‑protection system solutions throughout production, testing, and field operations.

Your Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain system architecture layouts for fluid subsystems.
  • Coordinate with supporting suppliers to ensure technical requirements are met.
  • Support development, test, and production of hydraulic, fuel, or fire‑protection systems.
  • Lead quote and bid kickoff activities, providing technical input and estimates.
  • Perform supplier coordination and technical oversight, including preparation of specifications and statements of work.

You are a collaborative, detail‑oriented fluids systems engineer with a track record of delivering robust solutions in high‑performance aerospace environments. You thrive on solving complex problems, working across disciplines, and mentoring teammates to achieve technical excellence.

Further Information About This Opportunity

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must possess an active Interim Secret clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
Desired Skills
  • Prior technical team experience related to the development of aircraft hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with defense / aerospace industry supplier management.
  • Experience troubleshooting faults on complex systems.
  • Experience running Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) program.
  • Experience with industry analysis tools such as Amesim, MATLAB, and CATIA V5 or V6.

This position requires a US Citizen and a Secret clearance.

Ability to Work Remotely

Onsite Full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. This condensed schedule provides additional time away from the office and is in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
