EHS Specialist will be responsible for implementing, tracking and monitoring the company environmental/safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health & safety regulations in the Field and Manufacturing Plant.
CORE TASKS:Expert Know How/Knowledge:
- Ability to travel 50% of the time.
- Technical knowledge preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven experience building relationships
- Thorough knowledge of environmental, safety, OSHA regulations and compliance;
- Detail oriented; sufficient to manage multiple priorities and project/task.
- Leading multiple contacts and managing safety data for multiple sites.
- Effective public speaking and presentation skills
- Proficiency with MS excel, word, power point.
- Knowledge in best practices and behavioral based safety implementations.
- Knowledge of Safety techniques for: accident investigation, risk assessment, JHA, etc.
- Passion for Safety
- Integrity and reliability
- Ability to build partnerships (internal / external) and influence skills
English. Knowledge of Spanish is desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:- The ability to lift 25/50 pounds occasionally
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds
- The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
- The ability to safely climb ladders
- The ability to work in extreme temperatures
- The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Equivalent
- Certification in Health & Safety a plus (Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Professional (GSP), Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Master Certification in Environmental Health & Safety)
- Train The Trainer certifications is a plus.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in the Environmental Health and Safety profession
Manufacturing/Shop Employees
- Warehouse/Manufacturing environment, working and walking around moving equipment and on concrete flooring
- Limited time spent in an office environment
- Non-air conditioned and limited heated environment
