Applications Engineer Sr - Level 3 Job Description
This position requires planning, development, and integration of advanced manufacturing technologies to resolve technical manufacturing problems and support next‑generation manufacturing systems. Candidates must investigate and gather information on the technical capabilities of production operations systems and stay abreast of software developments that may improve existing fabrication and assembly processes.
The role demands strong communication skills to analyze customer problems, create new production processes within the current framework, coordinate capability solutions for manufacturing digital transformation, communicate requirements to information technology architects, and present solutions to the functional core process owners. The Operations Systems Applications Engineer Sr will be an integral part of a cross‑organizational team of experts supporting implementation of various production operations capabilities using the Siemens Xcelerator and Dassault 3DX tool suites.
The engineer participates in development, documentation, training, and deployment of new Production Operations Business Processes associated with the Xcelerator and 3DX tools.

Responsibilities- Execute planning, development, and integration of advanced manufacturing technologies to resolve technical manufacturing problems and support next‑generation manufacturing systems.
- Investigate and gather information on the technical capabilities of production operations systems.
- Stay abreast of software developments that may improve existing fabrication and assembly processes.
- Analyze customer problems, create new production processes within the current framework, and coordinate capability solutions for manufacturing digital transformation.
- Communicate requirements to information technology architects and present solutions to functional core process owners.
- Support major projects and perform technical project management duties when required.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with senior personnel and management on significant technical matters requiring coordination between functions and other Lockheed Martin business areas.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong working relationships with peers, stakeholders, and customers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with Value Stream Capabilities.
- Familiarity with agile methodology.
- Experience as a CAM or with Earned Value Management.
- U.S. citizenship required and special facility access clearance.
