Neel-Schaffer is seeking an experienced professional to lead our Fort Worth office in the Municipal, Water/Wastewater and Civil Engineering sectors.

Join our dynamic team as the Engineer Manager / Fort Worth Office Lead, a pivotal leadership role designed to elevate your career by leading our Fort Worth office, driving project success, and fostering strong client relationships in a thriving North Texas market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Strategy:
    Oversee the Fort Worth office s operations, ensuring alignment with firm-wide goals. Lead strategic initiatives to enhance growth, profitability, and reputation in municipal, water/wastewater and civil engineering.
  • Client Engagement:
    Build and maintain strong client relationships, understand needs, deliver tailored solutions, pursue client development opportunities, and represent the firm at industry events.
  • Project Management:
    Direct complex municipal and civil engineering projects from inception to completion, including proposal development, scope definition, cost estimation, and delivering high-quality results within budget and schedule.
  • Team Supervision:
    Mentor and manage a diverse team of staff engineers and project managers, fostering collaboration and ensuring operational excellence across project execution and administration.
  • Business Development:
    Drive financial success of the Fort Worth office by identifying opportunities, managing budgets, and ensuring the office meets profitability expectations.
Qualifications

Experience: Municipal, water/wastewater and/or civil engineering in the North Texas market, including significant leadership or management experience. Proven track record in client-facing roles and managing profitable projects.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage clients, stakeholders, and teams.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in proposal writing, cost estimation, and scope development.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker focused on client satisfaction and business growth.

Location: Based in Fort Worth, TX, with occasional travel for client meetings, industry events, and visits to Neel-Schaffer North Texas office locations and other regional offices.

What We Need From You
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited school.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Texas.
  • PMP preferred but not required.
  • Experience in civil engineering or deep knowledge of the municipal or water/wastewater engineering industry.
  • Experience leading and managing staff preferred.
  • Strong verbal communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience in business development and client management.
  • Experience in budget management and preparation of proposals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and spreadsheets.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Travel is required.
