Summary: Our client, a leader and growing presence in the robotics and autonomous vehicles space, is seeking Mechanical Engineers for their way‑station R&D teams to work on long‑term contracts. The role involves researching, designing, developing, and testing mechanical and electromechanical components, systems, and assemblies used in robotic unmanned vehicles. Responsibilities include concept through prototype, fabrication, installation, and field performance evaluation, applying engineering principles, creating models and prototypes, supporting testing, and coordinating maintenance and repair activities.
Projects are moderately complex and performed under close guidance from senior engineers or supervisors.
- Analyze customer requirements, design proposals, specifications, and technical data to determine design feasibility.
- Design mechanical and electromechanical systems using electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic control principles.
- Support fabrication, installation, and integration to ensure compliance with engineering requirements and customer specifications.
- Develop systems that interface hardware, machines, and software.
- Evaluate field installations, troubleshoot issues COOL, and recommend design changes to improve performance and reliability.
- Participate in design reviews, testing activities, and prototype development.
- Assist with maintenance and repair planning to optimize equipment utilization.
- Exposure to AI technology is a big plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 0–10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or machine/product design.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (Solid Works, Pro‑E, or CATIA);
Solid Works required. - Experience with MATLAB or Mathcad for analytical modeling.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Basic understanding of GD&T, stress and thermal analysis, fatigue, strength of materials, and kinematics.
- Exposure to finite element analysis (FEA).
- Basic understanding of electrical circuit design and some exposure to electrical engineering concepts.
- Experience with mechatronics, electro‑mechanical design, and robotics software integration is a big plus for higher level roles.
