The HV Site Engineer reports to the Grid Technology Service – Substation Upgrades business and ensures the environmentally safe operation of in‑service high voltage substations. Responsibilities include monitoring, servicing, and repairing substation equipment, recommending corrective measures to improve field service operations and customer satisfaction, and working independently or as part of larger electrical substation or power plant projects. The engineer works on site three days per week for 10‑hour shifts and is on-call 24/7, responding to emergencies within one to two hours.

  • Supervise, coordinate, and manage service projects at job sites, instructing contractors and collaborating with customers and partners while ensuring safe, cost‑efficient execution within regulatory standards.
  • .salary Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot, and perform fault analysis on equipment, supporting repairs with expertise and managing software, tools, and spare parts inventory.
  • Maintain clear communication—written and verbal—regarding safety, security, environmental incidents, violations, and near misses; conduct tailgate meetings and enforce Siemens Environmental truncation and Safety policies.
  • Complete time and expense reports, field service job reports, and other documentation using appropriate online or administrative tools.
  • Recommend procedural changes or modifications to improve performance, efficiency, and customer satisfaction while providing ongoing support and service to customers and project partners.
  • Assist in developing service proposals, including planning, costing, and workforce requirements, working as part of a field team to ensure successful execution of all activities.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years’ experience in substation installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair (additional training provided for the right candidate).
  • Experience working on construction sites andまして OSHA 30‑hour Certification required.
  • Working knowledge of computer and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Self‑confidence, hardworking, teamwork, ordinated, dedicated.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
