Operating Engineer-Critical Environments
Location: Fort Worth, TX
Shift: 3rd shift team working 10PM to 6AM Friday through Tuesday with Wednesday and Thursday as scheduled days off. This shift offers a 10% shift differential and the position may be asked to fill in as needed to support client needs.
Description: This position is required to participate in and support all engineering and critical engineering and environmental support functions including all mission critical and data center operations, 24/7 staffing support and emergency response functions, environmental compliance and risk assessment as well as general engineering support for the corporate campus office building environment. A strong background and understanding of mission‑critical environments and equipment is required.
Dutiesand responsibilities
- Complete preventative maintenance (PM) programs for all critical and non‑critical operations including water treatment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
- Oversee mission critical equipment including but not limited to UPS, static switches, PDUs and generators.
- Manage and document all PM activities.
- Write, review, and complete MOPs and SOPs and know the process for completing both.
- Assist in the development of specifications for work generally outsourced to third‑party vendors.
- Perform on‑call and after‑hours support functions.
- Ability to perform advanced plant operations and/or repairs for a wide variety of support systems including HVAC, pneumatic/DDC controls, and electrical plant operation.
- Support Critical Environments Chief Engineer or others as required with high‑level engineering management tasks and activities.
- Electrical background would be beneficial.
- Understand and be able to read complex blueprints and one‑line drawings.
- Participate in mandatory training programs for the critical engineers.
- Maintain critical sites spare program.
- Possess strong knowledge of construction practices and equipment installations.
- Possess a thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, BAS and fire life safety systems.
- Thorough understanding of all engineering practices including but not limited to design specifications and highly analytical reports, and technical manuals.
- Ability to utilize advanced PC software including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation programs.
- Complete daily rounds and document readings.
- Attend monthly training sessions.
- Guide new employees and current employees as they seek to advance their professional skills and site knowledge.
- Must perform other duties as assigned.
- Possess the ability to climb ladders, stand, kneel, walk extended periods of time, lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Must have a current driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a stringent background check, and drug screen.
