Electrical Engineer - Systems Integration/Test - Level 4

Job description

The Electronic Hardware Design (EHD) team develops flight worthy safety critical electronic hardware, embedded software, FPGAs, and test equipment for LM Aero aircraft programs and related needs. We are a co-located team of electrical, mechanical, software, test, and project management engineers under one manager. These EHD disciplines develop requirements, produce detailed designs, qualify, document, develop test equipment for, and establish production build to print suppliers for the products it develops.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and verify flight worthy safety critical electronic circuit cards, FPGAs, and related test equipment, working closely with embedded software engineers, mechanical engineers, specialty engineering, and test engineers integrating software, hardware, and test stations; also develop automated test capabilities enabling hardware and software verification.
  • Lead development of electronic hardware architecture, circuit design, layout and mask design, device evaluation and characterization, test box design, prototype construction and checkout.
  • Prepare test methods and specifications, analyze equipment to establish operating data, and conduct experimental tests.
  • Qualify hardware against requirements, author design documentation, test reports, and technical analysis.
  • Provide finished device approval and prepare qualification documentation.
  • Lead and develop a team accomplishing these responsibilities.
  • Improve team processes and toolsets.
  • Provide consultation to struggling LM Aero electronic hardware suppliers to improve project performance and resolve technical issues.
  • Help LM Aero develop fully qualified flight worthy electronics at a greatly reduced cost and schedule enabling the company to meet increasing customer demands to keep up with adversaries.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Related Degree
  • Demonstrated experience in circuit design, simulation, analysis
  • Demonstrated experience Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Design and Evaluation
  • Demonstrated experience with Electronic Hardware Integration, qualification, and Requirement Verification
Desired Skills
  • Cadence schematic capture, PCB layout Allegro
  • Aerospace Product Development Experience
  • Atlassian Tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence)
  • Experience using Xilinx and/or Microsemi FPGAs, design and simulation tools (Xilinx Vivado, Microsemi Libero, Mentor Questa Sim)
  • DO 178C/254 verification
  • High Speed and RF design
  • Agile Development Experience
  • Technical requirement development, decomposition, verification experience
  • System level integration experience
  • Strong Written and Oral Communication Skills

The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
