As a Land Development Engineer-in-Training (EIT), youll be an integral part of the team shaping communities, supporting transformative land development projects, and building the technical and professional foundation for a long-term career in civil engineering leadership.
This role is designed for an ambitious early-career engineer who wants more than task-based work. Youll gain hands‑on experience across planning, design, permitting, and construction support—working side by side with Project Managers and Licensed Professional Engineers who are invested in your growth.

Build the Foundation of Project Excellence
- Support civil design efforts for land development and infrastructure projects including commercial, residential, industrial, retail, and public facilities
- Assist with grading, drainage, roadway, water, sewer, and utility design under the guidance of senior engineers
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical exhibits, and construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Participate in project planning, permitting, and coordination with municipalities and regulatory agencies
- Gain exposure to projects from early concept and entitlement through construction
- Assist Project Managers and Project Engineers with schedules, scopes, budgets, and design coordination
- Support construction administration tasks such as RFIs, submittals, and field coordination as experience grows
- Apply engineering logic and problem‑solving skills to real‑world design challenges
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including surveyors, planners, architects, and consultants
- Participate in internal design reviews and QA/QC processes to ensure quality and accuracy
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams while developing client‑facing skills

- Direct mentorship from Licensed Professional Engineers (PEs)
- Structured training in Civil 3D, land development standards, and permitting processes
- Progressive responsibility as skills and confidence increase
- Active support toward PE licensure

What You Bring- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)
- Strong interest in land development and infrastructure design
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D (or strong desire to develop proficiency)
- Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow into increasing responsibility
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team‑first mindset
- Detail-oriented problem solver with a passion for engineering fundamentals
