Under the general supervision of a supervisor or an employee of equal or higher rank, the Manufacturing Engineering Resource Programmer IV will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for designing manufacturing resources, including Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) numerical controlled (NC) programs, Manufacturing Computer Aided Design (MCAD) tools/fixtures, loft patterns, and operational models with associated 2D drawings. The role requires knowledge of shop production and processing operations and must work in accordance with management strategies, concepts, and departmental procedures using Bell Business Systems.
The position may also direct, mentor, and train one or more employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interrogate, analyze, comprehend, and interpret various Engineering Drawings, Models, Bills of Materials, Technical Specifications, Quality Documents, Bell Process Framework, and departmental procedures as necessary to perform assigned work.
- Provide MCAD operational models and 2D drawings for manufacturing process planning sequences as required.
- Provide process liaison support for manufacturing operations when MCAD models with 2D drawings exist.
- Develop, create, and maintain tooling/fixture definition for manufacturing operations for all media types including MCAD and manual legacy designs; execute creation and maintenance of CAM programs and operator instructions for Numerical Controlled equipment.
- Develop, create, and maintain loft MCAD models, flat patterns and associated digital tooling programs.
- Apply working knowledge of NC Programming, loft, engineering, tool design, manufacturing and planning processes and procedures.
- Apply GD&T/Aerospace tolerances and support producibility assessments when requested.
- Maintain records and schedules of work assigned, meeting established company cost control standards, schedule and quality requirements to maintain market competitiveness.
- Provide technical assistance to procurement and suppliers as determined by management.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and written, to interact between internal and external customers.
- Apply extensive aircraft manufacturing knowledge and train, direct, instruct, and check/validate Production Engineering work.
- Attend required training and complete competency‑based testing as required by management to remain current with technological advancements.
Qualifications and
Experience:
- Four (4) years of college or eight (8) years of experience in the aircraft industry.
- Demonstrated capability to adequately perform the essential functions and responsibilities related to the application of GD&T/Aerospace tolerances.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Responsible for use of information subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); all applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (green card holder), political asylee, or refugee.
