AWS is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a Senior Manager to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. The Senior Manager is one of our most senior management roles in the data center environment. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a large organization, managing department heads who own data center facility infrastructure, including the operational availability of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.

Key Job Responsibilities- Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including facilities managers, chief engineering managers, and engineering operations technicians.
- Attainment of organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of our data center operations.
- Planning and executing the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build‑outs, new colocation build‑outs, AWS data center expansions, and colocation expansions, including the entire mechanical/electrical/plumbing infrastructure to facilitate daily operation.
- Operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems for Amazon data centers, including preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and change management.
- Vendor management of colocation data center service providers, if required, to meet or exceed contracted performance SLAs.
- Oversight of a preventative maintenance system and adherence to schedules, evaluation, and performance of our infrastructure supporting the data center operations.
- Experience in successful in sourcing and/or outsourcing specific maintenance tasks, balancing internal skillsets with frugality.
- Safety, security, and availability incident response, incident management, and incident resolution.
- Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.
- 2+ years of management experience.
- 4+ years of general contractor and vendor management work (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, RFI/submittal tracking) associated with construction and project execution experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations, including feeders, transformers, generators, switch gear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units, and CRAC units.
