The OpportunityIn this role, you will participate in design execution efforts, reviewing and evaluating facility and equipment, supporting projects across sectors.
- Review and evaluate the facility and equipment to determine the appropriate fire protection requirements.
- Support projects such as Power Plants, Oil and Gas processing facilities, Data Centers or Water Treatment facilities.
- Proactively communicate fire protection requirements and guidance to internal and external clients, and generate detailed fire protection specifications.
- Generate piping and instrument diagrams and perform hydraulic calculations.
- Review detailed sprinkler and alarm drawings/calculations for accuracy and compliance with codes.
- Communicate with city and local officials.
- Independently apply knowledge and maintain a culture that supports the implementation of quality.
The Mechanical Engineering Department delivers high‑quality design across Power, Gas, Fuels & Chemicals, Water and Waste Water, Data Centers, Mining, and related projects. Buildings Mechanical Engineering designs HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for occupant safety and energy efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge of state and local codes and standards (e.g., IBC, IFC, NFPA).
- Fire protection design experience for Power Plants, Oil and Gas processing facilities, Water treatment facilities or Data Centers.
- Understanding of construction & constructability practices.
- Experience in procurement and contract administration.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program or local equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Ability to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background checks, drug screen, motor vehicle records).
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Work Environment and Schedule- Typical office environment, prolonged periods of sitting and computer use, attention to detail.
- Site visits may require physical tasks: crouching, standing/walking.
- Hybrid or flexible work options after first 90 days based on manager discretion.
