Description
Position Summary:The on-site Environmental Engineer provides technical expertise in environmental compliance, permitting, air quality management, and wastewater discharge management. This position conducts technical analyses, prepares regulatory reports, and supports the facility's environmental management systems.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties:- Prepare and submit environmental compliance reports to Federal, State, and local regulator
- Conduct environmental compliance inspections per WCF EEB procedures
- Support ISO 14001 EMS annual audit preparation and management reviews
- Assist in preparing and revising environmental plans and procedures
- Coordinate multi-media sample collection and analyses with TCEQ-accredited laboratories
- Provide technical support for waste characterization and profiling
- Analyze wastewater discharge data, prepare waste profile status reports, and ensure permit compliance
- Perform technical review and analysis of air pollution control device performance data
- Assist in air permit applications, amendments, and compliance, including maintaining records
- Conduct visible emissions observations and prepare quarterly reports
- Track and report solvent use, printing press uptime, and emissions data
- Support in preparing Monthly Waste/Air/Wastewater Dashboard
- Participates in departmental meetings and program reviews

While performing the duties of job, employee is required to stand; walk; sit; kneel, squat, climb, use hands to fingers, handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; type/use computer and phone. Prolonged Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing. Light work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds. - Work environment:
Ability to work in dynamic climate conditions and a plant environment. These sites may not be temperature-controlled. Are often exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels. Must follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment guidelines. - Non-Physical demands:
Frequently requires performing multiple tasks simultaneously, working closely with others as part of a team, and tedious or exacting work. Occasionally requires time pressures, emergency situations, and frequent change of tasks. Rarely requires irregular schedule/overtime and noisy/distracting environment.

Requirements Essential skills and experience:- Experience and proficiency in managing safety and health projects and employees at a large manufacturing or industrial multi-employer worksite
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution in environmental engineering, civil engineering, or chemical engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in environmental engineering
- Ability to acquire a Public Trust Security Clearance
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to prioritize and handle the project meeting deadlines
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, prefe
- Knowledge of Federal, State and local environmental regulations
- Understanding of air quality permitting, hazardous waste management, and wastewater regulations
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Experience in manufacturing and/or industrial setting
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred >
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is highly desired
Experience with government facilities a plus
