Storage Operations Engineer

About the Role:
Metro Sys is seeking a Storage Operations Engineer to provide expert-level support and maintenance of enterprise storage and data protection environments built on Dell Technologies infrastructure. This role focuses on day-to-day administration, performance optimization, and issue resolution within Brocade SAN fabrics and Dell storage systems. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on operational experience and a strong understanding of enterprise data management best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain Dell Technologies storage platforms and Connectrix B-Series (Brocade) SAN environments.

• Review and adjust storage configurations, perform LUN creation
  , and manage zoning and capacity planning.

• Troubleshoot performance and connectivity issues across the storage and SAN infrastructure.

• Support data protection operations including backup policy review, system upgrades, and failure remediation
  .

• Execute operational maintenance tasks and ensure systems meet reliability and performance objectives.

• Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, processes, and performance metrics.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise storage and SAN operations.

• Strong hands-on experience with Dell EMC storage technologies and Brocade SAN administration
  .

• Proficiency in troubleshooting performance issues and optimizing SAN environments.

• Familiarity with enterprise backup and recovery platforms (e.g., Commvault, Net Worker, or similar).

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a focus on operational excellence.

Preferred Background:

• Experience supporting Dell Data Center infrastructure environments.

• Prior exposure to data protection workflows and disaster recovery planning.

• Strong documentation and process improvement mindset.
