The EHS Coordinator is responsible for implementing the Safety Management System (SMS) to ensure KPS Global is a safe, healthy workplace. This role identifies and corrects workplace hazards and ensures regulatory and organizational compliance requirements are met.
Major Responsibilities- Inspect and evaluate environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards
- Support the implementation of the Safety Management System and all associated audits and reporting requirements as directed by the Director of EHS
- Track injured employees (in conjunction with management) and their medical rehabilitation as well as develop appropriate light‑duty assignments
- Support the facilitation of safety‑related programs and training for employees
- Coordinate the enforcement of all company safety rules and ensure disciplinary processes are followed for non‑compliance
- Lead all safety committees/teams to ensure appropriate corrective actions, records, and files are adhered to and maintained in accordance with the SMS
- Maintain current, accurate records and files to ensure all regulatory and organizational requirements are met including postings and distributions
- Support First Responders and render first aid to injured employees; ensure adherence to all training and regulatory requirements
- Conduct periodic workplace and equipment inspections
- Assist with the coordination of outside agency services for health, safety, training, education, resources, and government compliance regulations
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience with exposure to manufacturing
- Intermediate level of expertise in MS Office
- A thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and hazards
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing safety standards, procedures, and documentation
- Ability to work within a leadership team to support change and process implementations
- Ability to present and facilitate training and group discussion with employees – high level of employee engagement, comfortable in both the factory and office environment
- Ability to conduct incident and accident investigations to determine root cause
- Excellent proven “people” skills, works well with all levels, adjusts the delivery (verbal and written) considering the audience, advocate of employee engagement
- Fluent in Spanish preferred
- OSHA 30‑hr Certification preferred
- OSHA 10‑hr Certification preferred
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing plant
- Must be able to be on feet for majority of the workday
- Travel up to 10% required
