Position: Associate UX Writer - IC1 (UXWRIT - UX Writer)

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Content, the Assessment Specialist is responsible for assisting in the creation, alignment, delivery and maintenance of content for Power School products (i.e. Power School’s formative assessment item bank).

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following.

  • Research and share knowledge of state, national, and global academic standards
  • Work collaboratively with assessment specialists and item writers to provide detailed and timely feedback for
  • content creation based upon best practices for assessment item development
  • Develop, follow, and/or deliver item/assessment development plans aligned to state and national academic standards
  • Complete bias and sensitivity reviews
  • Assess and maintain content developed by Power School and/or third parties
  • Develop and deliver content-related professional development to staff and clients (as deemed necessary)
  • Respond to client inquiries, comments, and suggestions
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Complete other assigned duties as necessary
Qualifications

Qualifications include:

  • Knowledge of assessment item development
  • Familiarity with Common Core ELA standards
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of Bloom’s Taxonomy and Webb’s DOK
  • Understanding of instructional and assessment processes
  • Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency, general computer literacy
  • Able to cope with strict time management requirements
  • Able to work cohesively with a team
  • Able to follow and complete directives in a timely manner
  • Able to be efficient and organized while working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-evaluation and motivation tendencies toward expanded growth and quality control

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $66,300 - $90,100 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
