We are seeking a training material developer who designs, creates, and updates instructional content such as e‑learning modules, instructional videos, manuals, and presentations.
Responsibilities- Program design and development: Create and design training programs, courses, and materials for different learning audiences.
- Content creation: Develop a variety of training materials, including e‑learning modules, manuals, presentations, job aids, and videos.
- Collaboration: Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and ensure the content is accurate, relevant, and up to date.
- Needs assessment: Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and determine training requirements.
- Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and other metrics.
- Content updates: Maintain and update existing training materials to keep them current.
- Technology utilization: Use multimedia and e‑learning authoring tools, and manage content on a Learning Management System (LMS).
- Facilitation: Facilitate training sessions or workshops as needed.
- Additional responsibilities: Develop job aids, participant and facilitator guides, interactive PDFs, micro‑learning video series, vodcasts, SCORM‑based eLearning objects, reusable learning objects, Power Points, technical manuals, user manuals, and more.
- Collaboration with SMEs: Collect content, gain input during the iterative development process, and obtain sign‑off at the SME level.
- Stakeholder presentation: Present solution design to senior stakeholders at project launch and milestones.
- Methodology defense: Defend the chosen approach to solve performance needs.
- Facilitator consultation: Consult trainers who will deliver the learning product.
- Train‑the‑trainer participation: Engage in train‑the‑trainer sessions to ensure delivery aligns with the vision.
- Objective‑based learning objectives: Define and write sound learning objectives linked to business goals and evaluation strategy.
- Documentation management: Manage documentation, originals, versions, and final products in accordance with established repositories and content management processes.
- Continuous upskilling: Continuously learn new development software, stay current on industry trends, and obtain relevant certifications.
- Effective communication: Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by manager or management.
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
- Instructional design: Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
- Technical proficiency: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint) and multimedia tools.
- Technology familiarity: Familiarity with e‑learning development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred.
- Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with SMEs and stakeholders.
- Analytical thinking: Ability to analyze training needs and evaluate program effectiveness.
- Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of designing and developing innovative learning solutions, including curriculum development.
- Industry preference: Experience in the automotive industry or heavy‑duty truck manufacturing is desirable.
Base pay range: $83,000 - $103,100 annually. Bonus may be earned. Pay equity is considered in final offers.
