Teacher Salary Schedule (Eligible for Performance Stipend). This is a grant-funded position and is contingent on availability of funds.
Position
Purpose:
The Acceleration Teacher plays a pivotal role in driving student success by delivering robust, strategic, and data-driven small group instruction and school day tutoring in Math and/or Reading/Language Arts. Collaborating closely with campus administrators and teachers of record, they implement a comprehensive acceleration plan aligned with the Fort Worth ISD Strategic Plan, providing targeted Tier II and III interventions through coordinated push-in and pull-out strategies.
Additionally, as active participants in professional learning communities (PLCs), they continuously refine instructional practices and share effective strategies. Through ongoing data analysis, high-impact tutoring sessions, and proactive communication of student progress, the Acceleration Teacher ensures students receive the tailored academic support needed to excel and meet district goals.
Instructional & Program Support
- Delivers high-quality, data-driven small group instruction and school-day tutoring in Math and/or Reading/Language Arts, ensuring alignment with high-quality instructional materials and the Fort Worth ISD Strategic Plan.
- Utilizes ongoing data analysis to provide targeted interventions that bring students to grade-level proficiency, with a focus on Tier II and Tier III instructional support.
- Collaborates with teachers of record, administration, and families to identify best practices for both individual and small-group instruction, including push-in and pull-out models as needed.
- Maintains data-based documentation of continuous student performance monitoring, sharing relevant data with school teams and participating in decisions regarding student progress.
- Communicates regularly with teachers, administrators, and families regarding student progress, ensuring transparency and shared accountability.
- Assists in identifying students for placement in intervention groups, working closely with stakeholders to align interventions with student needs.
- Participates in meetings with teachers, administration, and families to discuss student placement, progress, and next steps for acceleration.
- Provides diagnostic assessments to evaluate individual student needs and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Provides input for program development and supports the implementation of assessment tools and data management systems to enhance instructional impact.
- Attends and actively engages in professional development opportunities, including trainings in research-based interventions, to continuously improve instructional practices.
- Serves as a resource by modeling effective small-group instruction and sharing best practices during staff development and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
- Performs other related duties as assigned, contributing to a campus wide acceleration plan that supports and advances student achievement.
Safety
- Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
