Position Purpose
Accelerates engaging parents in the critical efforts around student achievement by focusing on the whole school community, working with teaching staff, campus administrators, and families to build partnerships that support students’ academic achievement and social‑emotional growth. Helps identify and address parent and related school/community issues in a timely manner. Supports campus enrollment and attendance efforts and serves on campus/community organizations and committees that support parent engagement.
ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS
- Supports strategies for building relationships between parents and schools to increase parent involvement and empowerment.
- Assists teachers and staff in contacting parents daily, especially for academic support and attendance concerns.
- Helps create a technology‑driven culture by educating families and partners regarding District opportunities and communication tools (Parent Portal, District App, campus website, email, text).
- Facilitates ongoing parent learning opportunities, outreach, and information sessions that emphasize early education for college and/or career readiness.
- Coordinates with student support staff to utilize an effective referral process for assisting students and families in accessing school and community support programs and services.
- Assists with communication and interaction in all campus segments to provide increased opportunities for parent involvement (email lists, campus websites, newsletters, social‑media posts).
- Communicates with campus Principal and other staff to exceed Title I mandates and events.
- Supports and promotes special activities in the building that contribute to a positive and comprehensive school experience for families and the school community.
- Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting and climbing.
- Corrects unsafe conditions in the work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.
- Maintains a commitment to the District’s mission, vision, and strategic goals.

- Demonstrates high-quality customer service and builds rapport/relationships with consumers.

- Knowledge of social media software for creating and maintaining informational posts.
- Knowledge of instructional methodology and effective school concepts.
- Knowledge of multicultural diversity issues in the workplace.
- Knowledge of formal English grammar, punctuation, and pronunciation.
- Knowledge of regional differences in word usage, idioms, and cultural norms.
- Knowledge of resources to interpret/translate between English and district languages without altering meaning.
- Skill in demonstrating multicultural experiences and working with second‑language learners.
- Skill in interpersonal relationships, including tact, patience, and courtesy.
- Ability to engage families and parents in education and community issues to build support.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and present workshops/seminars to parents, educators, and community.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to use software for databases, email, spreadsheets, and word processing.
