The Department of Physical Therapy prepares future movement specialists through an evidence‑based and patient‑centered curriculum. The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, available in both residential and hybrid pathways, blends foundational sciences, hands‑on training, and clinical experiences to develop well‑rounded and compassionate providers. Faculty collaborate with local physical therapy professionals to ensure students receive the most relevant and impactful education.

With a low student‑to‑faculty ratio, interdisciplinary learning opportunities, and clinical placements across the state and beyond, the department fosters leadership and innovation in physical therapy. The curriculum supports research and professional development, equipping graduates to improve patient mobility and quality of life.

Position Overview

The Department of Physical Therapy at the University of North Texas Health at Fort Worth is seeking a faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor Rank for a 12‑month appointment in the Hybrid DPT program, effective immediately. Ideal candidates will have teaching experience as full‑time Assistant or Associate Professors in Anatomy and musculoskeletal clinical management courses, in a hybrid format.

Duties and responsibilities include teaching, advising, research/scholarship activities, and service in entry‑level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) hybrid program, fostering interprofessional education and practice through collaboration and engagement with academic faculty within the university, school, and program, supporting the mission and vision of the department to create solutions for a healthier community, and abiding by all relevant university and/or department procedures and policies.

The position will have an emphasis on teaching, designing, assessing, and delivering courses as a course director in the DPT hybrid program but may collaborate in the residential program in areas of expertise. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to mentoring and advising DPT students in academic and professional development and supporting DPT program operations.

Minimum Qualifications

DPT degree from a CAPTE‑accredited program, a minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in physical therapy practice, PT license, or eligibility to obtain licensure as a physical therapist in Texas.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Post‑professional academic degree completed, in progress, or in planning.
  • Board certified ABPTS specialty.
  • Background in interprofessional education, simulation, and other innovative instructional methods.
  • Background in hybrid teaching methods- online and onsite.
Required License/Registration/Certifications

Licensed to practice in Texas or license to practice in Texas by the time of hire, if a Physical Therapist.
