Job Summary

The Director, Student Engagement for the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (IE&I) is responsible for student and community engagement for the Institute. Specific responsibilities will include programs assisting off‑campus start‑up ventures for local area underserved communities, attracting students across campus in new venture idea generation, and engaging University athletics in business school support programs for Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

Duties & Essential Job Functions
  • Leads cross‑campus entrepreneurial engagement by designing and executing programs such as startup weekends, ideation sessions, and interdisciplinary innovation challenges that activate students from every college. Ensures broad participation by building pathways for non‑business students to enter and navigate TCU's entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  • Grows and supports student entrepreneurship organizations by advising leadership teams, coordinating resources, and aligning student‑led initiatives with the university's broader innovation strategy. Serves as a liaison between student orgs and campus partners.
  • Develops and manages campus‑wide outreach campaigns that increase visibility, awareness, and access to entrepreneurial opportunities, ensuring consistent messaging across events, digital platforms, and academic units. Builds strong relationships with faculty and staff to embed entrepreneurship in courses, programs, and co‑curricular experiences.
  • Owns entrepreneurial data tracking and analytics by building systems to collect, manage, and report participation, impact, and outcomes across all TCU entrepreneurship programs. Uses insights to inform strategy, improve program design, and support internal and external reporting needs.
  • Leads rankings strategy and submissions related to entrepreneurship and innovation by gathering required documentation, coordinating with university offices, and ensuring accurate and compelling representation of TCU's ecosystem. Maintains a pipeline of ranking deadlines, metrics, and continuous‑improvement steps.
  • Coordinates and drafts grant proposals that support entrepreneurship programming, student initiatives, and external partnerships. Works closely with faculty, advancement, and central university offices to identify funding opportunities and craft competitive submissions.
  • Fosters a vibrant and inclusive entrepreneurial culture by planning campus‑wide events, collaborations, and campaigns that celebrate diverse founders and broaden access to entrepreneurial resources. Builds a consistent student engagement strategy that ties together communications, events, partnerships, and data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Required Education & Experience
    • Master's degree.
    • 3 plus years' managerial experience.
    Preferred Education & Experience
    • Master's in Business Administration.
    • Prior experience in higher education.

    • Ability to establish rapport and credibility with a variety of constituents to include students, alumni, peers, advisory board members and business leaders.
    • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to work independently as well as being a collaborative team member.
