Position: Physician Assistant / Administration / Texas / Locum Tenens / Physician's Assistant

Qualifications and Licensing

  • Hold a current and valid license as a Physician Assistant in the state of Texas (new graduates are welcome to apply).
  • Maintain board certification appropriate to the area of practice.
  • Possess a valid DEA license for prescribing medications, if applicable.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Ability to work extended hours and respond to patient needs during off-hours if required.
  • Ability to travel to Weatherford, SW Fort Worth and Fort Worth (hospital district)

Primary Responsibilities

Patient Care:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Provide preventive care and health education tailored to the patient?s needs.

Coordination and

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
  • Facilitate referrals to specialists or ancillary services when needed.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Accurately document patient encounters, diagnoses, and treatment plans in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, hospital policies, and medical standards.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, such as chart reviews and peer evaluations.

Medication Management:

  • Prescribe medications based on patient needs and in accordance with state laws and protocols.
  • Monitor patients for efficacy and adverse reactions to prescribed treatments.

Patient Advocacy and

Education:

  • Educate patients on chronic disease management, healthy lifestyle choices, and medication adherence.
  • Serve as an advocate for patients, ensuring they receive appropriate and timely care.

Professional Development:

  • Stay updated on advancements in medical science, treatments, and technologies relevant to the role.
  • Participate in continuing education and maintain required certifications.

Administrative Duties:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of clinical protocols and procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and departmental initiatives as needed.
