• Review project specifications, blueprints, layouts, and customer documentation to prepare accurate estimates.
• Calculate material quantities, equipment costs, subcontractor expenses, and labor needs.
• Develop detailed proposals, quotes, and bill-of-materials (BOM) for material handling systems such as racking, shelving, conveyors, mezzanines, and warehouse equipment.
• Ensure all estimates reflect current pricing, industry standards, and company guidelines.
• Collaborate with sales representatives to clarify project scope, pricing strategy, and customer needs.
• Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and lead time information.
• Work closely with project managers and installation teams to ensure estimates align with actual execution requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of estimates, pricing updates, and project revisions.
• Track and update cost databases as material and labor prices change.
• Assist in continuous improvement of estimating tools, templates, and processes.
• Provide technical support to sales teams and customers as needed.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, or conference calls when necessary.
• Ensure all proposals are delivered on time and meet customer expectations.

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2+ years of estimating experience, ideally in material handling or related fields.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in estimating software, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

• Experience estimating racking systems, conveyors, mezzanines, or warehouse solutions.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and material handling safety standards.
• Familiarity with ERP or CRM systems.
