• Oversees the work and activities of skilled workers, as assigned.
• Operates construction, excavation, hauling, and maintenance equipment including front-end loaders, bulldozers, excavators, skid loaders, or motor grader.
• Inspect excavation and maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and/or excavation plan.
• Prepares construction sites for building, demolition, or excavation.
• Uses excavating machinery to dig holes and trenches used in structural concrete and pipeline.
• Transports tools and other construction equipment to and from construction sites.
• Uses equipment to prepare construction sites exterior site concrete such as parking lots, driveways, sidewalks.
• Operates machinery used to construct backwash basins, flow diversions, concrete structures, list stations, pump stations, and other infrastructure.
• Inspects and fuels vehicle prior to beginning shift.
• Performs routine maintenance and repairs.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions.
• Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change.
• Ability to work with a variety of personalities.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory.
• Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities.
• Ability to read building plans related to structural concrete and land grades.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Prior job experience preferred.
• Valid state light truck driver’s license.
• On-the-job training offered.
• Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time.
• Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds.
• Prolonged periods of operating heavy machinery.
• Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary.
• Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains.
