About the Job-
The Superintendent oversees all phases of a construction project and ensures that standard operating procedures are being met, as well as ensuring safety procedures are being followed. This position is responsible for managing project schedules and the overall progress for each project. The Superintendent attends scheduled meetings with the Project Manager, architect, engineer, and owner to provide updates and address any concerns that arise.
We would like for this candidate to have Job order Contracting construction experience.
- Oversee/supervise project from beginning to completion to make sure that specs are followed and completed under Standard Operating Procedures guidelines.
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractors.
- Collaborates with other staff to create pre-construction estimates and budgets for materials and labor.
- Encourage and enforce safety program.
- Manage weekly scheduled meetings with subcontractors.
- Inform architects, engineers, owners, and Jamail & Smith project managers up to date on changes, RFI’s problems or plan discrepancies.
- Schedule, order, and log materials for job.
- Keep regular accounts in the form of daily reports and photos in Procore on a daily basis.
- Update weekly schedules and look aheads.
- Monitor construction progress in accordance to specifications and drawings, document all deficiencies, and track until completed.
- Manage all materials to make sure that they are available on site and are in compliance with the specs and other construction documents.
- Attend update meetings with PM, architect, engineer, and owner.
- Ensure the quality of work is within the guidelines of construction documents, using the 3-phase quality control plan.
- Contact outside vendors and supplies on material procurement.
- Provide limited supervision to Superintendents through motivation, direction, review and feedback of assigned tasks as needed by Sr. Superintendents.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a building trade preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification, preferred.
- Experience in Job Order Contracting is a plus!
- Experience in the K-12 construction industry and or medical field, preferred.
