Church Infant Caregiver

The Church Infant Caregiver is responsible for providing reliable, safe, and nurturing care for children ages 0 to 1.5 years old during church services, ensuring they are in a clean and secure environment.

• Changing diapers (Universal precautions must be followed when handling diapers or body fluids).
• Welcoming parents and children.
• Ensuring a safe and secure environment.
• Assisting with naps and putting children down for rest.
• Holding children as needed.
• Engaging with children through games, stories, play, and prayer in a cheerful and supportive manner.
• Treat all children, parents, and volunteers with respect and kindness.
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts. Nursery hours are Sundays from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Attendance is expected every Sunday, including holidays, unless otherwise arranged. Opportunities for extra hours or special events may be offered with at least two weeks' notice.
• Stay until all children are safely handed off to a responsible adult, as indicated on the child’s registration form.
• In case of an emergency, promptly notify parents via cell phone or in-person.
• Tidy the nursery by cleaning toys and beds before the end of your shift. Place used bed sheets in the designated linen container and replace them with clean sheets. (Laundering of sheets will be handled by church staff or volunteers). Clean toys that have been in contact with saliva using the provided sanitizing solution.

• Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 to 4 with the ability to adapt and interact with a variety of personalities.
• Professional daycare/preschool experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• First Aid CPR Certified.
• Competence in handling emergency response procedures.
• Satisfactory completion of background check.
• Completion of Ministry Safe Training (provided by UCC).
• Attend UCC Volunteer Training at next available offering.
• Provide two references.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members.
