Position: XPLORE: Summer at TVS Camp XCURSION (Day Camp) Instructor

Overview

XPLORE:
Summer at TVS
offers children a safe, engaging, and memorable summer experience. Each year, over 1,000 campers aged 4-17 participate in at least one camp session, with many returning for multiple weeks. We welcome students from Fort Worth and beyond to explore, create, and grow through our diverse camps and classes.

Camp XCURSION is a summer adventure filled with weekly themed activities, including crafts, games, team challenges, and tasty snacks. Campers also enjoy plenty of free play, outdoor fun, and opportunities to make new friends.

The Camp XCURSION Instructor is responsible for planning, organizing, and facilitating activities for children in a day camp setting. The instructor will ensure the safety and well-being of all campers, provide support, and create a fun, educational, and inclusive environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, creativity, and the ability to manage a group of children.

Role Summary

As a Camp XCURSION Co-Instructor, you will support the lead instructor in planning, organizing, and delivering daily activities for children in a day camp setting. You will play a key role in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where campers can learn, play, and have fun. This position requires creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to energize and guide groups of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and facilitate age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, games, and team-building exercises, aligned with the weekly theme.
  • Ensure camper safety, engagement, and supervision at all times.
  • Build positive relationships with campers, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Assist with setup, cleanup, and organization of materials, supplies, and activity spaces; coordinate with camp directors for restocking as needed.
  • Support camper drop-off and pick-up procedures.
  • Collaborate with fellow instructors and staff to create a dynamic, fun, and educational camp experience.
Qualifications
  • Current or previous experience in teaching, mentoring, or camp leadership.
  • Strong communication and organizational, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to employment.
  • Must make a minimum commitment of 8 weeks during the summer season - which runs May 26 - August 7, 2026 from 8am-4pm.
Compensation

Compensation: $40+ per hour
