Overview

A Day in the Life of a Supply Chain Contracts Associate:

We are looking for inquisitive and driven individuals with a passion to innovate. Bring your experience and ideas and help us build a world-class global supply chain team while keeping safety a top priority for the company. As a Supply Chain Contracts Associate at Bell, you can expect to be responsible for driving cost and lead time savings initiatives, SCM process improvements and sourcing procedures in support of Bell’s various global cost centers.

Candidates should be familiar with general subcontracting processes, negotiating long term contracts, competitive and sole source proposal process, supplier sourcing and the initiative, drive and ability to network with internal groups to learn their requirements to achieve these goals.

What you’ll be doing
  • Establish and maintain a working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DoD Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
  • Execute standard SCM policies and procedures within an assigned commodity strategy to ensure the quality and delivery of supplies and materials.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and operations in order to facilitate cost and lead time reduction initiatives that enhance the overall affordability and quality of our aircraft.
  • Analyze requirements; recommends revisions to statements of work/specifications, contracts, and Request for Proposals (RFP); determines the appropriate type of contract; and verifies milestones, purchase requisition planning, program management approval timelines, etc.
  • Review, evaluate, draft and negotiate various types of business documents (i.e., Long Term Contracts, RFP, Product Support Agreements, Terms and Conditions, Proprietary Information Exchange Agreements, Teaming Agreements, etc.) for compliance with corporate and Bell policies and procedures.
  • Understanding the basics of commercial sales such as pricing, delivery, warranty and payment terms, as well as legal terms regarding liability issues, including indemnification, insurance and limitation of liability.
  • Long term contract lifecycle management, competitive and sole source cost and pricing adherence, inventory analysis, new supplier qualification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Will Need to be Successful

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing, Business, Finance, Law, Contracts, Economics, Industrial Management, or Organization Management

• 0-2 Years Relevant Experience

What Will Make You Stand Out
  • Strong familiarity with SAP and Microsoft applications including, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare appropriate, quality documentation.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize while learning on the fly, and a passion for aerospace and defense industry.
  • Preference for USG acquisitions, strategic sourcing, commodity management and/or contract experience, financial analysis, cost analysis of commodity/raw materials, understanding of direct/indirect commodity pricing.
