Position Summary
The Inventory Lead operates material handling equipment (MHE) to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count inventory. The role involves computer data entry for receipts, shipments, and inventory maintenance, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The lead assists managers in overseeing inventory associates and staff functions.
- Delegate work and responsibility to subordinates.
- Oversee scheduled shifts and evaluate inventory staff performance.
- Analyze daily cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical counts and perpetual records.
- Audit the daily error report and make necessary corrections.
- Generate monthly data from WMS reports indicating cycle count dollar variances.
- Analyze in/out transactions for validity against product structure.
- Report miscellaneous receipts and issues and take corrective action.
- Lead Physical Inventory operations.
- Gain knowledge of the online Inventory Audit Trail to facilitate research and corrective action.
- Prepare monthly reports on major problems and project updates.
- Perform other duties as assigned (e.g., transit reports, shipping adjustments).
- Assist with associate relations and training.
- Audit warehouse daily for safety, security, and quality compliance; maintain clean, orderly work areas and promote safety.
- Communicate with DSV representatives and clients via email; write corrective/preventive actions, complete reports, follow up attendance, and draft counseling memos and performance evaluations.
- Conduct daily startup meetings, encourage feedback, facilitate teamwork and development, coordinate operations with managers, and report internal or external issues.
- Provide motivational communication and ensure adherence to company rules; provide management with labor/equipment needs and develop team leaders.
- Assist leadership as needed.
- Work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as required.
- Participate in cross-training to support multiple departments.
- Work overtime as dictated by business needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

MinimumRequired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1 year of experience in a logistics, distribution, or related environment.
- Ability to operate MHE.
- Comfortable working in unregulated warehouse temperatures, ranging from mild to moderate.
- Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program.
