Position Title:
Intern
Position Summary
The intern will be assigned to support a functional area within Modigent. The intern will have the opportunity to explore many aspects of the business and develop their professional skills in a working environment.
This position typically will be for a 12-week period and will work under the direct supervision of a department manager or designee. The position is responsible for expanding experiences and knowledge of practices and procedures as they relate to assigned area.
Essential Functions
- Fulfilling tasks assigned by a supervisor.
- Performing clerical/administrative/support duties as assigned.
- Job shadowing within the department.
- Expands and develops knowledge with exposure to a variety of roles related to area of study.
- Participates in work teams, contributes to projects and initiatives, and performs various tasks as needed by the assigned unit/department.
- Learning technical skills related to the industry.
- Contribute ideas and solutions to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities shown during the internship.
Scope and Complexity
Interacts with all levels of leadership and employees, often relaying sensitive and/or confidential information.
Physical Demands/Environment Factors
- Requires extensive sitting with periodic standing and walking.
- May be required to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Requires significant use of personal computer, phone, and general office equipment.
- Needs adequate visual acuity, ability to grasp and handle objects.
- Ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college program with course work related to the internship.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be a US Citizen or Authorized to work in US without sponsorship.
- Mus be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data from various sources.
- Candidate must have a strong work ethic, competitive spirit, action oriented and optimistic outlook.
- Must be organized, driven, a fast learner, and detail oriented.
- Strong team player with proven ability to work across functional units.
- A drive for strategic thinking, innovation, and problem-solving.
- Facilities or Construction industry knowledge
Pay Range: $18 - $20 per hour
