Position PurposeProvides support with administrative, secretarial, and clerical for the Director of Dyslexia Services and department staff; assists in answering phones, responding to routine parent and campus requests, enters digital information including student referrals, scans referral file documents to create an electronic record, and assist in the operation of the Dyslexia Services department.
Administrative Functions- Receives, logs-in, and reviews paperwork and source documents from campus referrals. Pulls data from various reports, source documents, and electronic systems and enters into spreadsheets for use in monitoring, analysis, and special reports.
- Assists in pulling enrollment, referral, and assessment information from the Student Information System and/or the EasyIEP 504/ARD data system.
- Receives, organizes, stores, and retrieves confidential referral folders and boxes from schools. Scans said documents to create an electronic record.
- Helps support Dyslexia Services staff with routine student referrals and maintaining required documentation.
- Answers incoming calls from employees, principals, teachers, parents, community members, and others, and provides general information, and refers callers, as appropriate, to other staff or other District personnel.
- Prepares, organizes, and updates periodic reports on status of student referrals for the Director and other Dyslexia Services staff.
- Maintains office files in a systematic and confidential manner.
- Assists with receiving and inventorying supplies for the department.

- Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including computer and peripherals.
- Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
- Motion: Frequent repetitive hand motions, including keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
- Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
- Environment: Works in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours.
- Attendance: Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.
- Mental Demands: Maintains emotional control under stress; works with frequent interruptions.
- Education: High School diploma or GED
- Certification/License: None.
- Experience: 2-years’ experience in an office setting, preferably working with confidential student assessment records. MUNIS experience preferred.
- Bilingual preferred
This is a grant-funded position and is contingent on availability of funds.
