Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Mid-Level Accountant based in Grand Prairie, TX. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, proven experience in accounts payable/receivable, and the ability to support month-end close, financial reporting, and compliance. This role requires initiative, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both financial and non-financial colleagues.
Responsibilities- Process accounts receivable invoices and ensure timely collections.
- Manage vendor reconciliations and support accounts payable processing.
- Prepare and review job cost reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Assist with financial reporting
, including balance sheet, P&L, and cash flow schedules. - Provide data for budgeting and forecasting and perform variance analysis.
- Assist with audit preparation by compiling schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies (including sales/use tax filings and expense reporting).
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in accounting workflows.
- Collaborate with project managers, leadership, and cross-functional teams to support decision-making.
- Perform payroll processing and related reconciliations as needed.
- Handle other accounting duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- 3–5 years of accounting experience (construction industry experience highly preferred).
- Proficiency in Sage Intacct or other ERP/accounting systems.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and construction job cost accounting.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain financial data to non-financial colleagues.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
