Staff Accountant

Description

We are seeking a degreed Staff Accountant to join our accounting team on a temp-to-perm basis. This role supports core accounting functions within a manufacturing environment and offers a strong opportunity to convert to a permanent position based on performance and business needs.

The ideal candidate has a solid accounting foundation, hands-on experience with month-end close, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, operationally driven setting.

Key Responsibilities

+ Assist with month-end close, including preparing and posting journal entries and reconciliations

+ Maintain and reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts

+ Support inventory and manufacturing accounting, including variance analysis and cost tracking

+ Assist with AP and AR as needed, including invoice review, accruals, and cash application

+ Prepare and analyze financial reports to support management decision-making

+ Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and sub-ledgers

+ Support audit requests and provide documentation as needed

+ Identify process improvement opportunities and assist with accounting clean-up projects

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)

+ 3+ years of accounting experience (manufacturing experience preferred)

+ Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals

+

Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close

+ Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)

+

Experience with ERP systems (manufacturing ERP a plus)

+ Strong attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills

Preferred Experience

+ Inventory, cost accounting, or WIP exposure

+ Variance analysis and operational reporting

+ Prior temp or contract accounting experience

+ Ability to work onsite and collaborate cross-functionally
