Purpose of Position

The Pilot is responsible for providing a superior air transportation experience with a continued safety record second to none on each flight. The pilot is the face of Net Jets, providing not only technically accurate and safe transportation but also an exceptional service experience for every Net Jets owner and passenger. The pilot must wear many hats, ranging from professional aviator to in‑flight service provider while commanding the aircraft at all times and maintaining a professional demeanor.

Tasks

and Responsibilities
  • Safe operation of the aircraft from taxi, take‑off, and landing per FAA guidelines, OEM checklists, Net Jets Flight Operations Manual, AOM, and SOPs.
  • Greeting owners/passengers pre‑flight, brief them on the flight/trip, verify itinerary, provide weather updates and safety briefings, and explain any itinerary changes.
  • Deliver in‑flight service including handling of alcohol, catering, and companionship of pets.
  • Load and stow baggage correctly on the aircraft.
  • Act as final authority on the aircraft regarding safety, regulatory guidance, and operational compliance.
  • Liaison for owners/passengers and Net Jets from arrival at the FBO to safe landing and departure.
  • Communicate maintenance abnormalities or discrepancies to the company via the Maintenance Control Center and complete required paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned depending on assignment.

FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) written, First Class Medical Certificate.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other (KSAOs)
  • At least 21 years of age
  • 1,500 hours total flight time experience or 1,250 hours with appropriate university R‑ATP certificate or 1,000 hours with military pilot qualification or 1,000 hours with appropriate university R‑ATP certificate
  • 200 hours cross‑country (≥50 nm) flight time
  • 250 hours fixed‑wing PIC
  • 100 hours night flying, or 75 hours with ≥45 night takeoffs and landings
  • 75 hours instrument time (actual or simulated in‑flight, excludes simulator time)
  • ATP written completed prior to start of indoctrination training
  • 50 hours fixed‑wing, multi‑engine time
  • Current FAA First‑Class Medical certificate
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit
  • Valid passport and authorization to work in the U.S. and travel internationally without restriction
  • Valid U.S. passport, U.S. customs/security badges as needed
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Fluent English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially under pressure
  • Service‑oriented appearance and positive passenger interaction
  • Quick, accurate decision‑making under pressure
  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs force occasionally, up to 30 lbs frequently, up to 10 lbs constantly to move objects
  • Work varying hours including day, night, weekdays, weekends, and holidays, and ability to manage rest for flight duty
  • Duty may last up to fourteen hours per day for up to eight days, spanning time zones and extreme weather; may involve away from home for seven or more days and nights, staying in hotels
  • Work around animals, including handling and care during owner flights; conduct flights for owners who smoke
