Hod Carrier

Position Summary:

The Hod Carrier supports Masons by ensuring that materials, tools, and equipment are readily available to maintain efficient workflow. This position involves physically demanding work, including lifting, carrying, mixing, and preparing materials, as well as general site maintenance and assistance with masonry tasks. Must be willing to become signatory to the Laborers Union if not already a member.

Typical

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mix mortar using a hoe or mixing machine.
• Load, transport, and unload brick, block, mortar, and other materials.
• Supply masons with materials, tools, and equipment during construction tasks.
• Assist in erecting scaffolding and dismantling as required.
• Clean and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Use power grinder, hammer, or chisel to repair or smooth surfaces as directed.
• Mix mortar and prepare additional construction materials as needed.
• Follow safety procedures, including the use of respirators, eye protection, and other PPE.

• May work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Requires frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and carrying.
• Operates hand tools and may assist in operating machinery or equipment.
